Interesting idea using the same host but in varying color/power levels... good thing their labeled :gj:

I have a smaller metal case I got from somewhere long ago (as a free bonus gift with a Haband catalog order I think), but I need to find some foam to put in it to store my lasers.
Where did you order your 405-532nm goggles from ?

I got the goggles from here: Green Blue Laser Eye Protection Safety Glasses Goggles - eBay (item 270585416220 end time Nov-23-10 19:53:28 PST)
I don't know specific OD ratings, but I do know that no dot shows up when looking through the goggles, and if I shine a laser through them, nothing comes out the other side.

Thanks for letting me know where you got the goggles from, and that seems like a very good deal on those safety glasses, from the description it seems they protect from 405nm and 532nm rather than the entire range from 405 thru 532, but that's fine if you're just using them for those two specific wavelengths.
I guess the glasses are mostly for those who burn stuff, because other than when you are burning stuff I guess you would want to be able to see the beam, is that basically correct ?
(I know you still have to be very careful about eye saftey, being careful about reflections, ect.)
(I'm still learning, have not really been into lasers until recently, except for an old red pointer I had from very long ago
)

Goggles are reccomended when in close quarters with shiny objects like inside, and when burning (I didn't once, and had a giant blue spot dancing in front of my vision for a long time, not healthy). But yeah, it would be pointless to go outside with your goggles on, you could never see the beam

)I guess you could compare it to the glare from a welder's torch if you're using a high enough power laser so protection with safety glasses is definitely needed for such circumstances
Thanks, being a casual backyard amateur astronomer is one of my hobbies, (now including lasers
), and I remember visiting areas where the light pollution was so low you could really see the Milky Way very well and that is an amazing sight, so I searched the internet for a photo that would show the Milky Way as well as include a laser beam, so while I appreciate the compliment on the avatar, I can only take credit for finding it, but not creating it myself)

Lots of LPF members offer hosts with heat sinks ready to add a diode astroLaser.
That host is a Mohrenberg, PM DTR. He will know where to get it.
