till now, all my spiros were just 2 motors glued on cardboard wich could broke easily. TILL NOW.
I made this spiro in about 1.5 hours  for a school party
it's 2 motor spiro with DX 30mW module with no blanking, powered from 12V PSU. I already had the Al plate with 2 attached motors with mirrors, so I just added green module, LM317 voltage regulator (12V -> 3.3V) for laser, speed regulator for 2nd motor, switch for reversing 1st motor and main switch.
it's built in an old PC psu case with some holes and yes, the brownish thing that holds switches IS cardboard :na:

once again sorry for bad quality

Nice build, what kind of speed regulator do you use? is it a simple rheostate?

A 445 here would be amazing...

^not enough money :( maybe for christmas... also it would be VERY dangerous thing for a school party (aka MBM3000 = Massive Blinding Machine 3K )
the regulator is an NPN transistor with pot (I can draw a schematic if u want)

+1 rep on the build.

i love builds like this, proving you dont have to be a millionaire, or Einstein.

Throw a 3rd motor in :D

Yeah ! 3rd motor will make really nice animations like triangles smoothly transforming into a cubes or other shapes , that's really cool ! you should try that.

there's very little space inside... I must think how to fit another motor inside
thanks for the + :)

1 : Use smaller motors , example buy 2 of these laser crab modules Laser Man - MODDED LASER CRAB
2 : Also think about safety and try to make a shutter infront of the exit window using a electromagnet
3 : You can try to fit a third motor Into a L crab module , above link given :P
Good luck :)

Great job- love those PSU boxes- I have several with plans to make simuliar projects

TY for sharing + rep to you sir!!

well I have some idea how to put 3rd motor inside, but this requires some modding... I also plan adding speed control and reversing on both motors and some 555 circuit to control laser flashing

there are some nice tiny DC motors inside every old 35mm camera that has power advance or
auto re-wind-

and they can be found very cheap at thrift shops-yard sales etc.

the are about the size of 2/3rd of an AA battery- 1.5 to 3v

small one --also inside of Poliroid One-Steps plus a nice keystone FS mirror-thin and EZ to cut. another almost free item.

Completely agree.

It is inspirational to someone like myself.
I have cardboard. I have empty cases, wire, and switches...

Half of my next project is probably laying around the house!

seriously like it 3z
