Received my new laser from OFL. 280-300mw but tested at 333mw :) its IR filtered to which is cool and already been shouted at by the wife for burning a hole through her cd case! Hehe.
I have ordered a pair of eagle OFL52 glasses... expensive but you cant really put a price on your eyes!

Whoa, pretty big jump in power there :) Great to see you picked up some goggles. That's a rare occurrence these days for new members. It's usually goes something like...

"I want a $300 laser... What do you mean I need $50 goggles? I'm not paying that much for goggles!"

Yeah, I am a keen astronomer so my eyes are extremely important to me :) it is so much brighter than i had imagined! i cant even look at the dot on the wall, even through my welding goggles lol, so i have put it back into its box until i receive my eagles :)

Wise decision! Green is not a color that welding goggles block well.

*Welding gear should never be used for eye protection unless you do the neccessary calculations band tests to determine the effectiveness.

Yeah, i shone It through the welding goggles at the wall and the power of the light hardly changed lol, thats when i ordered my eagles. I am building a 1.8w 445nm laser too so the glasses are definately worth the money!
