yes the beam is bright for a BR. the beam shot pic above was taken without smoke in my dark hallway with a quater second exposure.

Now that's a high current! :eek: I wonder how long it will last.

But I think it will help more to have thermal grease between the module and the washers than between the washers.The heat could climb through each washer individually without them being interconnected.

There is thermal grease between the aixiz and the washers too, although I drilt the washers out to be a push fit onto the aixiz. In fact there is thermal grease where ever metal meets metal.
I even put a small bit on the diode itself before pressing it into the aixiz.

As for the current, I messured it about an hour ago and it is now running at 166mA. The battery has obviously lost voltage since the last messurement. The diode has lasted a while though. I, and the kids, use it everyday to just mess about with, and I have had it about 2 months now.
