Edit. The further I go, the further I want to discuss this so should I move this to the reviews thread?

Okay so here it is, today I just felt good. I got two wonderful lasers today.

I put this in the multimedia because I want to post a bunch of pics, even if some may be crap.

So first laser- I got a B&W Tek BWB-10-oem 473nm laser
It's rated 10mW max, and i got 12 out of mine. I haven't gotten a chance to take off the optical feedback yet, but a couple people have gotten up to and ~30mW out of theres. NOT TOO BAD for </= 30mW of 473nm for $87 shipped in the USA huh?

Somebody asked me for measurements in another thread. The head, which is very heavy, and very very high build quality is roughly 6 inches long and 3 inches wide. The driver board is 6 inches at its longest point, 6 inches at it's widest point, and 3 inches thick at it's thickest point.

Fun experience too seeing a new WL. 473 is pretty damn sweet in my book. It's the usual, makes 445 look purple/violet and 473 baby blue or deep blue.

Next laser I am very proud of, because I put it all together! I had a driver, and a 445 diode. So I wanted to use em. I ordered the Saik kit from Moh, just because I loved DTR's build and the host is awesome with a huge heatsink. Such a high quality host. So i got me another driver. Dual drives at 901mA and 910mA= 1.81A

Followed DTR's battery mods, got a 26650 from him, and started working. After an hour i had finished my first laser that wasn't a hot kit type thing. I had to put it all together and it felt awesome. I was nervous when turning it on haha, and When it lazed it was so awesome.

I took a vid of a 1 minute run with it. 1740mW peak! Awesome, now I need to get another 405-g-1 and see if we can't get 1.9/1.95W outta it.

Anyways heres some pics. I love this host, it's a bad mother...

Awesome Bud. I got a 80mW 473 nm on reserve and can;t wait to get it. Little jealous you have one already...

Edit: Ps. is that blue bed spread have red on the reverse side?

This post made my day, thank you JakeGT for the pics + vids :D

Jake --
You can use 2 drivers in parallel as I have posted in the SAIK housing. Balance the current and tie them together.

A few of us have done this -- Have fun--

H mike, that looks curiously Identical to mine! U take pictures of my host or what

And yes krogith. I was gonna buy robs 80mW cni 473, but just realized after that person messed my car up ao bad, that I couldn't afford a $700 laser right now

So this is as good as 473 is going to be for now. But I will be able to make it more powerful, and collimate the beam better with some lenses

Don't ditch the optical feedback on your 473nm. If it's a V5 driver (like mine was), you can't just 'turn one pot' and get a huge jump in power like the V4 drivers, you pretty much have to tweak most of them with it running. When I did it I made a wiring harness so I could run it with the driver boards separated so I could get at the pots. You really need to tweak most of the pots a little, but there are two that have the most effect. one of which is the same one you adjust on the v4. The other, with the db9 connectors towards you, will be the pot in the very lower left corner.

I got mine up to 30mW WITH the feedback and AFTER corrective optics.

Thanks for the measurements. I'm going to try and find something to keep the PSU in. Hopefully mine will be here by the end of the week. Your saik build is pretty sweet too. I'm still waiting for my host to arrive.

i now own this bad boy as of today and let me tell you it is the cleanest, most constant, strongest 445nm i own.
