my 820mW 12x!

So I just got my host back today and put everything together. It is the Police kit from mohrenberg, where there is a link to my review in my signature. I changed it from a 445 to a 12x build. It is now set at 500mA, and with a 405-g-1 lens, it puts out 820mW!!!!!

Man this thing is a beast, and one hell of a burner. All I have right now is a LPM 1 minute test video, but as soon as the lights go out, I will upload some beam pics and more multimedia. This laser is badddd and I love it!

Nice one. I really need to make me a 405. They are sweet. I love that nospin meter too, definately thinking of getting one.

it will, 500mA isn't a big deal, there are people that have BDR-SO6J's with 550-600mA and have lasted a good time so far. So i'm not worried in the least

Looks good. The rechargeable host is a great idea.:beer:

420mA is still the suggested range for long life with a 12X but my personal max is 500mA and I have one set to 500mA giving 800mW W/G-1 in an Ehgemus 14650 host that I am very pleased with.:eg:

I've been meaning to ask you if the side clicky on that host is a press=on/release=off button or if it's a click once=on/click again=off button - identical to a tail clicky except on the side. I saw this host on PA and was thinking about getting one, depending on the side clicky :beer:

Nice deal on the 12x too. I hope it lasts awhile for you because I'm encouraged to build a nice 12x too except with less power in a smaller host

I still need an eghemus host... Just, what to put in it?!?! Anybody got any cheap 635 300mW+ diodes or a 500mW 532 DPSS?? haha, just kidding, im broke as a joke now.

EDIT: sorry danefex, I didn't see your post before I posted, it's a click on, then click to turn off host, and I love it.

I was really thinking about having this set at 525 or 550mA, but i'm glad 500mA is what I settled with.

I am very pleased with it, and will baby it like the rest of my lasers, and hell, if I get 3 months out of it, and it dies, I'll be just as pleased, and get another one and turn down the heat a little bit, but for now, I can't take pictures in my room without puttin up a couple pieces of white paper at 10 feet so it stops burning everything.

Finally got it! i'm glad that host finally got put to use!

I've got a 12x in a trustfire tr-801 kit set at 500mA as well.
I love the burning but i think i like the 445nm color better.

....so now i have to replace my 445nm and i'll be complete (unless i need a 635)

unless you want big powah, DJNY just made a 20mW 635nm GB. You could ask him, he is inquiring manufacturers for more.

Damn nice build; only getting 750 or so out of my 12x's!

Could this be the highest 405 portable around? Not sure. +1 though; I've never seen 820mW out of a 405.

Man you got Great Diode there.:wave: I have mine set to 425mA and its doing 583mW with the G1.

Was the diode from a SF-BW512L or a BDR-S06J sled. I know you said 12X but then you mentioned the BDR-S06J.:thinking: My Ehgemus 14650 is 800mW@500mA with the BDR-S06J.
