Ok...but it defeats the purpose of having safety glasses especially that there is a big ass mirror in front of you. Use them!

Yes, he should be wearing his goggles. But you can tell that he is kind of nervous about that picture, look at his face! You can just see him thinking "steady....steadyyy.... hope I don't drop this!"

I wonder if it's the camera or the paint fluorescing, but it's interesting that the camera picks up some reddish hues on the door

Nice pic. I think you successfully executed one of the few situations where goggles aren't really needed(it would be safer but still) while using a 2W 445nm in close quarters. Seriously, whats the point of watching things fluoresce in a room when you block out the laser entirely. Pointing the beam straight up where you know there is nothing reflective is a fun way to light a room in a trippy blue color and watch what reacts to it. Also it appears the beam is slightly unfocused which slightly reduces the risk as well on top of not lighting your paint on fire.

I am holding my head and squinting my eyes because at that position the reflection does not enter my eyes. I was also like steady, steady...

Yes the red comes from the ceiling reflecting back to the door from over and behind me...

Yes

the beam is unfocused... I did practice this shot a few times with glasses... along with most other angles in my house... These are with no smoke or fog also

If you look at the pic, you can see that around my eyes is a shadow, almost as though I have glasses on. This was practiced carefully before hand with glasses. Also during this shot I slowely removed my glasses to take the pic. Prior Proper Preparation Does Wonders In Life...

this guy takes his time and effort to make a cool pic and wishing us happy xmas
and in return he get bashed for not wearing his glasses
looks to me like he surely knows what he was doing and i dont see any direct danger in the pic (he isnt even looking at the beam!)

As to the your pic in your 1st Post....
Even if you say you know what you are doing.. that pic relays
a message to new uniformed members and guests of this
Forum that it is acceptable to operate High Powered Lasers
without appropriate Laser Safely Goggles/Glasses.

That is not what this Forum is about. The majority of this Laser
related Forum advocate Laser Safety.

The problem is.. you may know what you are doing but others
may not..

I actually do almost the same thing but I set up a small RGB array of a 300mW 532nm, a 1.3W 445nm, and a 1W 638nm. I set them up on a small stand rig I made and them them on unfocused on my ceiling in my room and it has an amazing effect in my room. I position the three laser dots in a triangle at about 6 inch spacing so I can attain shadows of all the combined colors of the beams (cyan magenta yellow...) and fill my room with a near white glow.

One of these days I'm going to take a few pictures of it XD
