Once again, I really do appreciate all of you concerned about our safety.

Since the video, I have picked up a few pair of goggles and I make sure everyone wears them when we play with these things.

I am working on a music video for my buddy and will use the blue, purple and green beams (with goggles of course ;) )

I feel like most of this forum is full of members who love telling junior members they're doing something wrong. But you're not his parent.

Don't get me wrong I agree with all of you, but really.... why do you care? Do you all sleep better at night knowing you've told off some noob? I don't get it.

If he wants to burn his eyes out, I say let em!

Yeah. What is a laser anyway? And goggles....

Do I need goggles? The ones I bought at the hardware store are clear, will they work?

But wait, I can't see anything, isn't it too late for them?

I think the concern comes from the fear that ignorant use of dangerous laser such as demonstrated in the video will lead to high power diodes or certain classes of lasers becoming illegal after some "know it all" noob burns out their own the retina or worse that of the soccer mom next door. The best way to keep something that is dangerous and controversial legal is to keep it out of the spotlight...no pun intended.

Well they alredy are illegal.

But the FDA isn't concerned if you make a laser yourself, or even if you manage to get one in through customs. What they're really concerned with is Joe Blow importing 1000 units with intent to sell.

An improper and unsafe use of laser pointers is always to blame for both human health and also to not feed the poor reputation of laserists by the "ignorant people".
It's simply a duty to inform those who ignore

Thats Fine. I understand that most people in the world don't care about anyone but Them Selfs. And Only if it Effects You Personally would you Care.

I'm glad there are so many members that do Care and want to educate and Help Others. It may come from the fact you don't want more restrictions added to our hobby Or Because you do care about others safety. The thought of someone having to live the rest of there life with Eye Problems because they were ignorant and No One Cared enough about Them to Explain the Safety Behind there Use, Would be Sad.

With all the New ones Weekly we see that saw a YouTube video and get a laser I can see how it can get Over Redundant to Explain again and again to everyone the safety, It's nice to see how many Members do spend the time to do it.
