Some of the Laserglow staff got up to the cottage this past week, and given the space, time and resources we decided to make the ultimate long distance burning video! This is a 1.2 Watt LRS-532 laser module, focused backwards through a telescope and shining over 300 FEET across a lake... I challenge anyone to produce a longer range match lighting video! No optics were used "downstream" of the telescope, it's just the laser, the scope and 300 feet of empty space. Enjoy!

PS. This video was edited by NOVADan so if you have a question about the video, music or something else you can ask him directly! He always finds such awesome music for these videos.. And if anyone wants their own LRS-532 laser module you know who to call.

Hell of a laser !! and beautifull location as well to fire up such a laser. Really enjoyed watching it :cool:

The location is northern Ontario, a really beautiful and untouched area of Canada and it's only a couple of hours' drive from Toronto. On a side note, I was camping this weekend and I successfully defended my campsite from invading foxes and hungry raccoons using a 125mW green laser. They took one look at it and just disappeared! These things are great for camping.

that is one awesome video, thanks for sharing it justin!! i think this video explains why a lot of us love lasers so much :cool:

lol, i was scrolling through the posts while the end of the video was playing and laq's penguin looked like he was dancing to the music ;D. That video is awesome. offhand, about how much does that laser cost (several grand?)

Dude that is nutz i wish i could light a match at 300 feet with a laser i cant even light one at point blank cause all i gots is a 5 mW oh well im building a DIY which should burn.

Oh my god a beatifull location 1.2 watts of coherent light and some fireworks, sounds like a recipe for some serious fun. Amazing video guys, i wish we would see some more stuff like this, sure lighting a match is fun but it's been done. At 300 ft. however, that's new for me, and some fireworks well that's just awesome. U guys must off had so much fun :) :) :)

The laser used is our LRS-532-TM-1200-10 and the price would be around USD $4200. I suppose you could do this same trick with a lower powered laser and it would still work pretty well as long as you had a decent telescope to focus the beam. If anyone out there has a scope, give it a shot!
