Well I must say I'm pretty impressed with my 250mW blu ray running on a 6x GGW. This is my first high powered blu ray, my other one was probably about 60mW.

This just sizzles through skin like there's no tomorrow. No sharpie or anything needed. Using a Jayrob 405-g-1 lens.
I first noticed when I focused it on my hand and it just sizzled right through and turned it black (did it burn and dry the blood at that instant?)
I then tried to "draw" using the same technique, so I drew "LOL" on my arm.
Perhaps some of you will find it the most idiotic thing you've ever seen? perhaps some will perceive it as many lulz.
I'm just so amazed, this focuses better than any green or red I've ever owned.

That's pretty impressive tho, didn't think they could burn skin like that.

Damn, I need to get my hands on a 405-G-1 lens. To burn stuff rather than myself though....:whistle: ;)

lol, nope, doesn't hurt at all. When you run your finger over it it feels weird tho, you can actually feel the letters.

One thing I found about focusing blu ray's is that it actually hurts more when it ISN'T focused for upclose burning. When you have it focused to a tiny dot it just sizzles right through your skin and then the pain goes away. Does it burn the nerves or something? I'm not sure lol, but when you have it focused for far away and you burn upclose it just continues to burn your skin and never makes it's way through. That's why it didn't really hurt to draw this on my arm.

Here's more pics of how it looks today lol, the camera actually makes it look more red than it really is, the letters to my eyes look like stitches:

Dude its funny, but not smart. Not to mention the possible skin damage you could do, its not cool to post yourself irresponsibility using a laser. Not good for younger members or the forum in general. Please conciser deleting this.

Are there any increased chances of skin cancer.. due to the excessive exposure of the skin to UV light from the laser? :confused:

I heard that a 405nm focused beam will change the DNA in the
skin to cause Cancer but only if the skin is burnt...:whistle:

405nm is not UV and not even close the ionizing UV band. It's UVB that causes melanomas. UVC is even worse but you don't find that naturally on earth because it's filtered by the atmosphere.

LASERBEE: True it is possible to damage DNA from excessive heating (called denaturing) but that is independent of the wavelength. Any wavelength capable of being absorbed in high enough densities can damage surrounding tissue but any other heat source will do the same thing. Generally, once DNA is denatured it's damaged beyond repair and cannot be transcribed so the potential for any cancers is very low. Oxygen radicals are often the culprit from UVB exposure in the rise of melanomas.
