***Correction*** I am not sure about the 445nm diode. I could be the 12x 405nm diode from BDR-S06J sled.

I took some 1:1 macro shots of various diodes. They are from my Canon 7D with 100mm macro lens.

Here is a SOC from a 20x DVD-burner.

LOC from the LPC-815 sled.

And the last one is the 445nm diode.

Cool pictures!

Though just for the sanity of members with small monitors or slow internet, might be better to make the images a bit smaller, and embed links in them to the fullsize versions

I love close up's of diodes, I wish my camera could pick them up like that.
Do you have any C-mount diodes to photograph? They are fun to look at up close as well, especially if it has a FAC, amazing to see really just how small everything is that produces lasing!

You might actually have a 405nm diode..

IIRC, the 445s have 4 wires going from each pin to the diode which are usually clearly visible.

If one pair of wire are all you see, it should more likely be a 405nm diode.

I t always amazes me how small/intricate these diodes are that produce F-loads of light!
