I decided to record some shows in my living room last night. FYI, none of these were created by me. The video camera was placed right in the middle with beam attenuation.

Nice! I'll need to give it a proper watch when I get home - YouTube doesn't work so well over RDP...

Hopefully give me some inspiration to get my projector project moving! Currently eyeing up a 1W 520 from a couple of sources. Everything else is diode with nastyish beam specs ... may as well match them a little more closely.

Could you give us some more info on the projector? Specs and such? :)

It's a RRRGBB with 2 reds currently out of commision. One red is a C-mount that I can't remember the exact specs of and the other has 2 660s with a cube. Those two diodes keep blowing for some reason. Output after optics for the 660 is around 500mW. I plan on getting a couple LASORBs to see if that fixes the problem. I think whites at full power are currently around 800mW.

This projector is great for using in small areas since it isn't too bright. I plan on trying to make a couple matching RRGGBBs eventually. I'd like somewhere around 8W of white. I'd go with 660, 635, 445, 473 or something close to it in diode form, 520 and 532. I know they won't be cheap. I can't go with a standard RGB after seeing what something with 4+ wavelengths can do.

Adding the second upload to this post.

Nice one! Know the feeling with the dead reds - I've got 2/6 dead on one build ... thing needed rebuilt from scratch anyway.

Yeah, those extra colours in there definitely help the colour palette! Shame it's hard to reproduce those nice pastille colours you can get with Ar/Kr... You're kinda making me want to keep my 0.5W 532 and get a 1W 520...

Where did you get a case for your projector? I've been looking at Golden Star's cases but it'd be nice if I could find something used for a little cheaper ... :D

Really nice. Reminds me that I need to fire min up. REP
I like being on the receiving end of the projector just like it shows in the videos. I hold up a 3x5 card on a stick so I can't get a direct hit and it's pretty amazing. Very surreal.

Diachi - There does seem to be some good pastels. Some of the colors I could see in real life didn't show up real well or at all in the video.

Pman - It is fun sitting right in front of it. I just add 100% attenuation to an area slightly bigger than my head.

Final one until I return home. I have a few more to upload. They are taking 90 to 120 minutes each.

I've been here over 3 years and don't have a clue how to post videos. Don't even now how to post others videos lol. I'm actually not sure how to post pics from imageshack using my note 4 (always use my main computer). I can bring up imageshack but I can't figure out the way to add pics here with it. Its got to be something simple that I am not seeing.

Diachi, I forgot to answer the case question. It was custom made. I don't have a picture of it that is readily available and won't be able to get one until tomorrow evening.

pman - if you quote a post with a YouTube video, you'll see what is needed to post YT videos. For pictures, put
around the image URL.

nice beams!!!
My PJ has a dead red too. must be going around.. hehe. Mine is TTL though so I'm now only getting three decent colors.
So what software and DAC are you using? Sorry if I missed that

I have LD2000 and Beyond with a QM2000.

I've really got to remember to lower the ISO rating on my phone when using it to take pictures.... Phone cameras seriously suck [insert nickname for a donkey here].

The PC I use to run the SW is the 3rd shelf up.

Nice, I know those look even better live in person.
It's been a while since I did anything, and I need new everything, the laptop my software was on is dead and it's dated anyway, very dated.

I've always wanted to have multiple shows, maybe a left and right running mirror opposite programs and the center doing effects that burst through then calm down, then burst through again, but it will have to wait.

The left and right could start off running red and green only and the center only blue, then the left and right could burst out full spectrum and the center firing quick solid multi color beams that speed up faster and faster morphing into swirling waves.

It looks like a lot of fun and I know the software has come a long way, it would be easy to sink a lot of money into and I am afraid to even get started again, so I will just watch yours. :D
