Ir laser build see video looks nice the balloon pope instant when the beam touched it

Update-
The power on it is will measure it soon
The diode used is a see the data graph.

Nice build. What's that diode's power?
I second that, good build. It would be nice to know the power and wavelength. It must be pretty powerful.
If it a diode laser, they usually have poor divergence and you popped those balloons from a distance with ease. Good job Alien Laser :)

Hi,
Nice build , question you build lasers all the time my question is when are you going to purchase a LPM seeing a read out is all about the finished product. You have lots of beam shot and no LPM figures.. Just curious.....take some pics of the actual laser being LPM'ed that would be great.. See how nice this is to all our reader and members..

Rich:)

Wow, your divergence has got to be pretty good for a 808. Very nice. :)

The diode used is a 800mW+ 808nm 5.6mm i set me driver at 510mA, Max is 1.1A

Be careful with that. I've got an IR keep hidden in a box, very dangerous w/808

Mine is over a watt and is VERY dark red up close and personal, but from a foot or two away you can't see the spot at all.

Get an LPM to measure

Built a 4W 808nm IR c-mount about a month or so ago;) it's in a Kryton groove. 3W diode running off 5A driver for 4W output.

You can distance focus it with a cell phone cam or security cam, many photography digital cams have an IR blocker you have to remove from inside.

By the time you get close enough to see the dot wouldn't you already have eye damage with a 1 watt:thinking:
