These are the internal pics of my ~250mW 473nm CNI. The pump current is only 2.08A... pretty darn good for that much power!!

In the pictures you will see the pump diode, followed by a mount containing the yag, followed by the big chamber for the LBO crystal.

Those are some great pictures. How bright is the inside? Just guessing from the pictures, I'd say extremely bright. Looks like the beam is violet but crystal it's hitting turns it blue.

Actually the third picture represents the brightness pretty well. All the pinkish looking stuff is IR so when you're looking at it you don't see any of it. The blue coming out is obviously very bright, but the blue inside isn't too bad because most of it makes it out of the laser

Hello!
The mount isn´t the ND:YAG! First pumpdiode, than a collimation optic. And under the blastic (you can screw out the 4 screws and put it over, but attention on the temp feeler and that the laser is off while that!) there is the ND:YAG , LBO and OC on each other mounts on a "U" bracket!

Normally the c-mount diode is mounted in 90° other angle, so you have a "special" version with rounded polarisation for couble to a second "normal" laser.

What is the original version of the head? MBL100?MBL150? It´s the small head with the small OEM driver what normal is only avaiable up to MBL150 which do up to really maximum 250mW but only with much luck!
When do you buy that unit?

I think phil's right. I have a green that looks almost identical and the block right after the pump seems to be a lens. I believe it has a bonded crystal set.

Thanks for clearing that up! I thought it was strange that what I thought was the yag would be so far away from the doubling crystal and from the diode. I didn't take the plastic cover off because I know the LBO is hygroscopic, so I wanted to keep exposure to air to a minimum.  I think this head was originally a 100mW head. I've tweaked all the tecs until I reached maximum (stable) power. It will go over 300mW but is very unstable at that power. I also want to note that I did NOT adjust the diode current at all, only the diode tec and the crystal tec. After it warms up it stabilizes at about 230mW and sometimes creeps up to 250mW. I know it has linear polarization, but not sure in which direction.

all cni high power green and blue laser look simular inside.

my cni's green look the same only the have the diode mounted horizontely nstead of verticaly

btw that mount is just the pump beam focus lens
the yag en lbo are inside the cavity both mounted seperatly

Hello!
Not all High Power look the same!
The MXL-III and the MXL-H look near teh same,... The crystal and diode holder ist the same, only the TEC under the Diode is bigger. On old versions the bigger heads had a complete mount out of couper, and the MXL-III was the "U" alu, the LBO/KTP holder Couper and the mountplate for the ND:YVO4/ND:YAG couper. Now the wto have the same holders.
The Model MXL-F has a Z-Cavity, with other holders, but as cheap as the others (no knowledge, only to make it work, but it works!)
The Model MXL-W , like my 5W 457nm DPSS, is a V-Cavity with a fibrecoubled pumpdiode. It´s also build very facile, but works.

Awesome to see the cool transition from IR to Blue... pink to blue fade FTW :D!
