Just did this out of pure boredom.
Even wired the original LED to come on green. Has a simple toggle switch mounted in the side.
Direct driven with a 5.6 ohm 10W sandbar, and it's just a boring short die open can diode. Not capable of any real power, so it's a pretty boring build.
I did this after discovering the circuitry of the original battery charger is complete rubbish, I wouldn't trust such a volatile battery on it!
