I wonder what Wicked wants me to change?

The message is over a month old, I don't really use/check my YouTube account or my Gmail so I had no idea they'd contacted me...




Here's the video in question. I posted it at the height of the Wicked Arctic fiasco. My text was too much and the pacing was poor because I busted it out at work in about 15 minutes...

So... any thoughts on what they want me to change in the "subtitles"?

Maybe they're worried the part about "Comparing beam specs with Stalin" is offensive to their Russian customers?

Free laser? You should ask them what you would get. Getting a core wouldn't be worth your time to re-make it.

They will make him remove any negative references about WL in it, and that was the whole point of making the video.

Its like having an artist repaint a painting because they dont like parts of it.

I applaud the fact you are not going to fold in this matter. It would be like you're selling out to the company you were making fun of.

Ask them what they want to change I am actually curious. Or make them ship the laser first and tell them the changes are on back order until you get some more kilobytes.

I don't know why Wicked would actually care for this. There are tons of Hitler parodies.
They make it worse than it is.

Before this thread I didn't know there was a parody about Wicked lasers.

Oh yeah. I'd probably have to change the whole thing. I'm sure we can all imagine what it would be. Maybe just a Wicked Lasers Fanboi-Hitler being really impatient and all stressed out as he waits for his Arctic.

I'm sure the stuff about their fraudulent FDA Accession numbers and "approved" status would need to go too.

As would any mention of the whole "Wicked Bucks" bit of irony at the end where Hitler obviously hadn't heard they'd cancelled the program would need to disappear as well.

And I was indeed surprised YouTube put my Hitler parody video back up. Because I know they'd all gone down at one point over German copyright complaints, and because they don't have free-speech rights the same as America does, especially in regard to anything about the Nazis that's construed as "pro Nazi" or even just parody that does not "take them seriously" or makes light of them.

I guess YouTube/Google decided as parodies, they come under American terms of "Fair Use" and free speech and put them back up. Although I'd bet a YouTube user in Germany can't see the video unless they hit YouTube with a proxy server outside the country.

Cool and funny vid, and even funnier that WL wants in on it.

Because it was funny and immediate in defusing some preconceived assumptions regarding the cast and just a touchy subject in itself. He pulled off something many have been unable to do and WL is guessing a funny video such as this may hang around longer than it would like. F---em
