Yes it helps a lot for the camera to light it with expanded 405nm goodness.
Hard to match the perfect reflection angle to see it in daylight how you can do with your eyes.

For <50mW it looks like it has a strong beam. Maybe that card has properties that allow it to burn easily. Etching/Burning looks very deep in the photos.
You sir ,have a much steadier hand then I do.
I have a hard time writing smaller then 4" high letters on my 24"X24" GITD screen from 5' away.

Thanks Greenmechanics. It's one of these "talents" i developed in childage, could write micro text with a sharp pencil and so. but now in my old 22 years, i vae to be very calm and relaxed for that. no way of doing this when im in my usual rush for college-housework-etc

The card is white but printed blue with offset. seems to "eat" 405nm very good. i etched a bit on a black cable too, works good. think my unit is very very overspec... can cut tape too!
