If I had one of those I am afraid I would have wet jeans...ha..ha...I could never afford it anyway. Not even the Herc 400. The Herc 300 is a possibility later on.

As with anything, there's always a price curve where you start paying through the nose to go higher..... I was comfortable with the 300mw mark.... especially since it peaks so high for close to 5 minutes.....

Yeah...I agree. I have seen the specs and read every word of your review at CPF. Were you the one who lit a match that was put in a jar of water?

Ha..ha..every time I see a herc pic it tempts me to pull the trigger on a credit card. But I have to wait a few more months at least. For now I am happy with my red DIY, and I am sure I will be happy with the SenKat laser. I love red. But I will admit it amazes me how much green that thing puts out. I would have fun freaking out the neighbors...with caution of course ;D

It was "under" water... not "in" the water...... I took a piece of playdough and made a little pedestal to hold the matchstick upright and made it stick to the bottom of the lid of the jar "that puts it inside"... the jar is sealed now and full of air.
Now with the jar "upside" down and held down with a pencil or something so it won't float, you now have a view of the top of the match by viewing through the "bottom" of the jar which is facing up now since your jar is upside down.

Try to shoot through a clear part of the glass if possible... in other words, if you shoot through the edge or any part of the glass that is irregular in shape, it will distort the beam on the other side and you will loose your power.

It may take several tries to find the sweet spot.

My jar was in the bottom of my bathroom sink.. about 3 inches underwater.... maybe two.. I don't remember, but the laser actually shot through the water, then through the glass, then through the air inside the jar to hit the match.

Try to make sure the water is still too.

When the match ignites, it forces gas out of the seal "don't tighten it tooo tight.. maybe it could explode?" and it will fart underwater.
