I think that anyone saw this video on youtube:
YouTube - How to Make a Burning Laser
jump to 2:37 and look at his hands that holding the soldering iron, I think that the soldering iron is too hot to hold it in the metal piece. (plus I didnt see smoke)

I saw this movie for first time last year I think, but now I saw that he is FAIL!

Haha maybe he is just trying to show off and make it look alot more complicated then it really is to pot mod a laser.

I only had to watch the first few seconds to know that the video had done the rounds before (worth posting again though) we all agreed first time around that the iron was not on and the whole thing was bogus..... That many views of the video easily explain why we still get the "how can...5mw......100mw.....light matches.....LOL" posts here.

Sure... i've seen enough solder irons to know that grabbing the metal part while on will burn your fingers no matter which one you use.

I wonder what motivates people to publish these idiotic videos on youtube. On metacafe you can make money for the views, but nu such thing on yt right?

Pffft! Pretty funny. The guy calls the potentiometer a "screw"... has no idea what the 03 part is... holds an obviously cold iron... utter bogusness! LOL . I wonder how many hundreds of nice little 5 mW green pointer litter the landfills because of that video. Aah, the power of Youtube... :spank:

You can make money on YouTube, you just have to become a partner. i became a partner last year for having lots of subscribers and a great audience and good entertainment, now i make about $0.10 per 10 video views, made $1000's ;)

really... what kind of videos have you uploaded... plus whats the minimum of views you need to become a partner.. i tried long time ago to become one but got knocked back because i didnt have enough views on my videos!

Yeah... Really,

I used to create alsorts of little funny clips of me doing crazy things but i am a big techie so i also used to create computer tutorials, hacks and tricks and also created some of my own music which is still on youtube.
I think it is because i had such a wide range of different things i was uploading and different audiences for the different videos i do that brought me to be a youtube parnter, i tried becoming a partner at 300 subs which failed, then 400, again failed, 500... Failed... 600 subscribers i tried again, and i was confirmed as a youtube partner and was asked to agree to contracts and link my adsense account to youtube :)
