Took a few beamshots of my 5mW 405 and 5mW 650 laser pens.

Yeah they're grainy and a bit out of focus, my camera isn't nearly as high-end as I would like. :p

Heres the 405 by itself

Heres the 405 and the 650 together:

I could not for the life of me get my camera to focus on the aperture of the 650, so theres no image of it by itself.

And heres a neat shot of me aiming them together and producing a magenta dot:

And finally for fun I decided to set my camera to maximum shutter and cranks the ISO up to 1600 and take a picture of the 650 beam:

Resize the pics please. at first I thought you were a light bending wizard because all I could see was a purple squiggle...

Yeah first go around I linked the full resolution versions which are like 4K or something.
Fixed them though.

Starting to suspect my 405 is more than 5mW though because I can see the beam in the dark pretty clearly.

Chances are they are both 50mW+ if they came from eBay. Try putting a hole in a black trash bag, use a magnifying glass to focus the laser beam

I wouldn't say they are 50 mW... I had a 50mW green (at least it was supposed to be 50mW) and it stung my skin if I aimed it at my arm, but neither of these ones do.

Hmm don't think its 50mW...can't burn anything.

Have you ever noticed the dot from a 405 always looks out of focus?

Yeah, that's due to your eyes inability to pick it up well. It always looks like it has a halo around it. Kind of makes your eyes feel strained to look at it.

Interesting. I cannot see the beam on my 30mW 405nm unless it's basically a new moon kind of night...

weird. Maybe my eyes are more sensitive to 405? Or perhaps I have more particulate matter in my air. I am in the basement after all.

It must be overspec, but by how much I cant tell. Wish I could afford a LPM...

I just remembered though derping around with it, if I focus it with a magnifying glass it will sting my skin a little...
