Extracting the Blu-ray diode from a 6x sled (video)

Here's a video I just uploaded of removing the violet diode from the 6x sled. From the start of getting it out of the sled, to removing the ribbon and getting it out of the heatsink.

I still need to annotate to give proper descriptions of what I'm doing, but it should be helpful to at least see it done. Annotations added!

There's more description on Youtube if you double-click the video to the site.

Read Post #9 for tips on the red and IR diode removal.

Oh..I thought they were not shipped yet. My bad. I might try it myself. Are the other diodes mounted the same way in the heat sinks?

Yeah, I shipped them on Friday.

The other diodes are not mounted exactly the same. The red looks a little different, but can be removed similarly to the violet. The IR has two small "wings" on the heatsink that you can grip with two sets of pliers to lightly twist it and the diode will fall out.
