I agree. I got mine today. I measured it at 40mW with fresh batteries. Mine experiences instability during warm up. Awesome deal though. Way brighter than my DX true 30mW newwish.

if this laser and my next laser doesnt break, i might actually go the next step and change my caption... lol.

i wonder why this laser is so bright, can measure up to 40mW, but still doesnt burn? is the beam not focused right or something?

Well 40mW isn't much of a burner anyway, but still, have you checked for mode hopping? :-/

modehopping means that you have 2 or more dots, or maybe even a peanut sized dot where two are still fused together nice vid by the way ;)

Re: DX Romisen 30mW Mini Green Laser (first laser

I just needed to do a small repair job on both of mine  Apparently there is nothing holding the driver board and switch up but a small pad of foam. After pressing on the button too many times the entire board and switch starts to sink into the foam. When that happens you get flickering/dimming problems due to the switch being too far down and not making proper contact. To fix it I needed to use a screwdriver to push the board back up and I filled the area under the board with hot melt.

Now I have them working fine again but I can't fully screw the end caps on because the hot melt messed up the spring. They caps only go 3/4 of the way on now.

The whole problem is caused because there isn't anything substantial supporting the board and switch so the button pushes the driver board out of place

Re: DX Romisen 30mW Mini Green Laser (first laser

yea i noticed the foam is starting to sink (maybe only 1mm) and now the button is sunken a little more..
im not sure what to do about it, or how to fix it. notice my caption... half the time it was because i tried to fix the laser. so before i try anything myself, i would like to know a surefire way to fix this. it looks more like somehting need to be put inbetwen the button and the thing the button touches to turn on the laser.

I put some hot melt under the driver board itself to replace the defective foam. After it cools and hardens it does a nice job of keeping everything in place. The problem with this method is the messiness of hot melt and the fact that it is incredibly hard to do a perfect job without messing the spring up. It might be easier to use super glue and simply glue the edges of the driver board to the sides of the body.

it seems like glueing them to the edges wouldnt work, cuz if you pressed the button its bound to break the glue eventually..

You could use some epoxy and it would stay in place for a LONG time.

It looks like you've got some serious hopping going on in that video. Around 29 seconds, there's a shot of the laser with 2 beams. That's pretty clearly mode hopping.

I think that was just a shaky camera.

lol that was actually me not realizing i left the exposure on, so it captured the beam as i was moving it, making it appear there is muliple beams.
there is only 1 nice clean dot. you can see it in the second picture that the video shows (minus the reflection the table is making).

theres no mode hoping.
