I just got done with my personal host. I'll be using this for my first 445nm build. I didn't go with threads for this one. It uses 3 set screws. One for the module, one for the head, and one for the tail cap. They are located in each of the "grooves"
It's also sized for an 18650 battery.
If only aluminum would stay polished. I thought about trying the "chrome" powder coat.

cant you get the aluminum to keep polish if you spray a clear coat on it?

Looks sweet.

You have been talking about this for awhile. Good to see you got around to building it.;)

You have any more pictures? Maybe break it down to show us how it all fits together?

Anyway nice job.

No idea.
I just know as soon as you take it off the lathe you've already messed up the polish. You can get them to almost a perfect mirror finish if you devote the time. As soon as you take it off the lathe and wipe all the lube off of it (that's what she said) it's already not nearly as good as before.

This is after it had already been washed with soap and dried.

@ DTR. I'll get a quick video up and post it.

video up in OP.....i hate hearing my own voice.

Looks good. Wouldn't worry about the inside of the host. How often do you look in there.;)

That head should allow for good heat dissipation. How hard are planning on driving your diode?

I'm waiting for the micro boost to get here.
I'll run a wire from the case pin to the - input on the driver, and then have a spring and PCB board mounted on the bottom of the head with the + lead wire.

I think he said this was a personal build. But if he did decide to make a few more I would grab one.
