EDIT: thread title changed. Tis will be the place where I post all of my beamshot pics. It will also be a reference to myself for how my basic knowledge of photography progresses.

Just a few pictures aiming my laser toward the local community colleges' public radio tower. Hopefully someone doesn't report UFO's to ABC

Pictures were taken around 9pm in pitch black with a 30" exposure time, manual focus.

Now it's time to fire up the projector and Laser Tag 2.0 and go do some laser graffiti! Enjoy.

Pitch black?

I know its a long exposure, but it still doesn't look anything like pitch black.

Re: Beaming radio tower

9pm is pitch black here in the Midwest (Wisconsin). Just look at the street light on the block over from where I am. 30 seconds of exposure will make a picture look like it's mid evening.

Re: Beaming radio tower

true, here in West Virginia the sun is already going down at ~4

I like the 2nd picture with it hitting the tree and the tower.

Re: Beaming radio tower

The snow will enhance light amplification as well. Very nice pics.

Thanks. It means something coming from someone who knows how to work a camera.

Re: Beaming radio tower

Not a radio tower beam shot, but a few more none the less.

Whoa I see one needs to be resized to 800x600 but it will have to wait since I am posting from iPad.

I don't think "light amplification" are the words you're looking for since that only happens within the die itself. :p

@ Pyro the laser is a DTR build and is quite nice.

Cyparagon, where are you in Wi? I'm in Kenosha which is right along the IL boarder. About 30 minutes South of Milwaukee.

Re: Beaming radio tower

I think what would be cool is to find a tall radio tower that fits most the cameras view. Then when you do a long exposure, wave the laser all over. All the metal cross beams will be bright green, so it would be like a green outline drawing of the tower :)

Re: Beaming radio tower

Is that a 30 second exposure? (wasn't clear from the OP)

Re: Beaming radio tower

It says in the original post, 30" exposure. I can't think of how I could have made it more clear.
