This was one curiosity of mine about distance popping with a high power single mode diode, so i figured ide conduct a small test to submit to the community and hopefully answer some questions since i was highly curious about this myself. Shoulda done the test at night so i could have seen the beam/dot better, sorry for the video quality also, it was shot using my wifes galaxy S3 phone.

Laser:
16X BDR-209DBK from DTR in module+driver @ 600ma inside a Saik-305 host using 1 x 26650 cell, full charge. Power output is 870mW with a G2 lens.

Balloon colors:
White, yellow, orange, green, red, pink, blue

Distances tested:
15ft, 25ft, 50ft

Results:
WHITE-
Failed to pop at any distance.

YELLOW-
Popped instantly at 15ft + 25ft, slight delay at 50ft.

ORANGE-
Popped instantly at 15ft + 25ft, slight delay at 50ft.

GREEN-
Popped instantly at 15ft + 25ft, slight delay at 50ft.

RED-
Popped instantly at 15ft + 25ft, nothing at 50ft.

PINK-
Failed to pop at any distance.

BLUE-
Failed to pop at any distance.

Great video. Thanks for sharing this. It's a good example of what these can do. There aren't too many videos or different color balloons either.

That's cool! Man I hope a 1 watt blue can pop a white balloon. I plan on buying one soon after I test green, violet and higher powered red lasers.
