Nice! Beams aren't the clearest, but I love the contrast between the light from the lasers and the dark background. Also the colors look very full.

Keep in mind it is only 18mW and 30mW (respectively)-I think the visibility is pretty darn good for that low power, eh?

Tomorrow I'll try and get a pic of the projected spot - it was about 18" diameter, a bit white-green, but pretty close I'd say.

Glad you like!

I hope your white turns out better than mine. I used a 660nm diode laser though and my argon is a little blue-heavy, so the white was purplish. Taken with a potato (about 6 years ago):

nice, love seeing photos of these gassers, hope to own one someday.

Are the lines really that needle thin or is photo size playing tricks? looks thinner than DPSS.

ion lasers typically have amazing beam specs.. way better than diode.

I love some good gas love, and I also love whitelights :)

Mixing looks great, I'll have to try that for fun one of these colder days :)

If you ever have the chance, combine that argon with a 594 HeNe or DPSS. Trust me :)

+1 ;)

Yup - they are very thin - the argon is razor sharp. The HeNe spreads a little bit..

Thanks everyone - I thought you'd all like the pics.. I'm totally loving the Argon especially! As I said in my other thread on cooling, I got my system tuned in today and managed to get 42mw out of her! JDSU must seriously under spec these tubes as this is a 25mw model... and I have between 6-7000 hours on it at this point based not the hour meter in the head!

Now that she is running nice and cool at over 30mw I'll do some more white light work in the near future after I clean up my bench and come up with a better mounting solution.

Thanks for the rep! Although, after a bit more research and work it would appear I misread my output on the argon by a factor of 10.. So it's probably around 4mw actually...
