Hey all :)

So i had the opportunity to buy this laser from IsaacT, even when it was not really for sale at the moment.

We had a nice talk, and agreed with the transaction, wich went smooth btw :)

Lovely chap to talk too overall, and packaging was good if not excelent...
He never shipped overseas, but i'm hoping this would be a start for perhaps future buy's ;) as it arrived save and sound.

There's a review of it allready, wich you can check out here:

I wanted to thank IsaacT first and again, for the opportunity to get this awesome build for my collection. (and everyone involved )

As a beginning star wars guru myself, i couldn't be more happy then to have this Laser saber wich is based on the one Obi-Wan Kenobi had.

I'll let the pic do the rest :)

Seeing this thread is worth letting it go all by itself. These are the kind of pictures I didn't have the vision to capture.

As for packaging. When you send something like this overseas, you don't take any chances!

I am thrilled that you are happy with it. I really put a lot of time in on that one and it pleases me to see it go to someone who can fully enjoy it.

Thanks for making this thread man, +rep

I really like the build :)
So much detail in it, and everything is removable (no glue used on the parts showing)

Did meassure it at 5.5W, this thing is a burner for sure!
Unfocused beam photo's resulted in burnmarks in the door... (yes even unfocused)

Thank you all for looking :yh:

Thank you IsaacT

Nice laser. Looks very beautiful. 5.5 is insane but it defiantly belongs in that saber host.

It's a one of a kind ... first laser saber host created ...

Sporting a whooping 5.5W in output.

It's brings fear and disturbance in the force...

Beautiful item! I'm surprised IsaacT let it go too!

I wouldn't necessarily say it was the first lightsaber host (nor IsaacT's 1st lightsaber host!)

I bought his early prototype lightsaber host of IsaacT's (before he designed yours) and had Ehgemus (who created these hosts) make a special focus adapter for this one (since he originally made the host I thought it only fitting) that I use for it's G2 lens. I also bought a cool copper disk focus adapter from Flaminpyro that I have it's 2-element 520nm lens on. Flaminpyro is also in the process of making me 26650 to CR123A adapters for it so I can take it places without worrying about trying to take rare size rechargables on a plane.

I will do a full thread with pics after I come back from a trip I'm leaving on soon but in the mean time here is what I call "The Tython Prototype Lightsaber":

It's case.

Just a tease for now but that is 1.3W (with G2 lens) of 520nm goodness coming out of that (visible beam on a overcast day!) and a little secret, because it was a $560 module from DTR I added in polarity protection when I built it!

Thanks Smeerworst!

Very cool IsaacT, you do have a talent for designing these hosts!

P.S. Smeer, when the first Star Wars came out in 1977 (I was in high school) I saw it not just once but many times in it's original run in theaters. I've been a big fan ever since! I just happen to love Star Trek too!

Did you tried maybe to add beam expander to the 5,5W laser? I think that power is so big, that effect can be amazing after making fat beam.
