Re: Pocket laser (choose your colour:) )

:D You have in hands the "holy grail" that I have imagined if I could ever create my own special build. This is my highest DIY goal right here. Simply amazing.

Btw, jay, I bet that with your skills you can manage a build like this. :D

I take that as a great compliment, and thank you very much! :)

But man, I could just imagine how tricky this build would be. And he makes it so small! This is amazing! I know it will not be as easy as rog8811 makes it seem...

Rog, I hope you are generous enough to include a lot of details in your tutorial! :) And where to get your special multi-function switch. How much power for each laser, etc....

Man, this is a really incredible build!

Re: Pocket laser (choose your colour:) )

I will try and make the tutorial as detailed as possible ;).
I really don't want to get into machining loads of adaptors as each one needs to be done to the individual Aixiz module as they are not made to tight tolerences.

if you want lots of $ sell only the adapters
I'd make and sell some adapters, with aixiz modules so you'd know they fit :D

There was just too much space left in the case so I filled it up, with:

2 motors and mirrors
A turning mirror
Another battery
A pot
A switch
And just in case you are wondering how you can change the laser batteries with that lot on top....It all just lifts out, conections to motors are the 2 strips of brass above the rear RCR123A battery ;)

The tutorial for this is under way, I will let you know when it is ready to go.

OH SNAP!!!

When you lifted the top I was like "OMG!!! the things you added"  :D That's absolutely amazing! It's pure awesome!! It's off the hook!! The bee's knees!! ;D So basicly this tiny one does almost everything the big one does? That has got to be the coolest project box laser anyone ever made!

Btw, it looked like the green was always in a circle...Does one of the motors stop when you turn on the green? :-/

do u make ur own mirrors or do u buy them some where

The mirrors are cut from a sheet of 2mm acrylic FS mirror tile, stuck to a mandrel then turned to size in my lathe.
