Very nice shot Alex!

Hey Greenlander, you mean like this?

I purchased the same paperweight at the Corning Glass Museum 3 weeks ago. I did a whole photo session (never posted) photographing the paperweight using mirrors to get multiple reflections. I also purchased a small clear glass dog figurine at Corning which I photographed with lasers that also came out real nice.

super cool picture to the OP....and we all know brucemir takes amazing pictures every time.
can we see the glass world without any lasers? I want to "know" how much it changed.

Bruce. Stop posting these awesome pictures so often!
I need to wait a few weeks or so to be able to rep ya again :p

Nice I have that same globe! I wish I could take pictures that way you could! Every time I do something like this it never comes out right. And I don't think it's glass, I think it's fused silica crystal btw.

Silica crystal is still considered glass to the best of my knowledge (former glassblower for ten years). It just has a different compound with similar molecular properties, for really the only difference is the COE (coefficient of expansion). They both have a similar melting point, yet its more of a viscosity change rate in comparison to another "glass" like borosilicate glass (aka pyrex). Pyrex being a more hard glass compared to a "soft glass" ie lead glass or crystal glass.
I havn't been in the glass field in a few years, so my knowledge might have slipped a bit. I may be not the greatest at wording this too.

I realize this post is some days old and don't mean to semi necro-post!
I also dont mean to semi de-rail. These pics are awesome and now want a world glass globe. You had me with glass and lasers!!!
