These guys showed up in the mail today and so far they work great. Gotta love those perfect dots

Here is the model information
Helium-Neon Lasers He-Ne Laser - Modulated ML 868 - Industrial Fiber Optics, Inc.

These are obviously used units

I pulled one of the units out of its labby case - Please excuse my photos they were taken with a phone and then uploaded which seems to lower the quality a bit more

I turned the brightness all the way down for these next two shots so you could get a better look at the plasma and not just an orange blur

They have some cool inputs that can be used to transmit signals via laser

Im going to be experimenting with those because im curious as to how well they will work. I assume I need some sort of photosensitive receiver?

I may be selling one of these after I get them both cleaned up. Part of me keeps telling myself that I dont really NEED two of these haha

My fog machine is broken but I burnt some incense to make the beam more visible

Well if you feel like it, try underexposing one stop (or so) and bumping up your saturation on that second image. Could be pretty cool. :D

There isnt enough smoke anymore and im out of incense but I took the original photo and tried to bring the colors out a bit

And if everyone else drops their interest, you can always sell one (if you still are going to sell one) to a fellow Minnesotan!

hey how much would a HeNe laser be worth, i got one a good while ago, i went through alot of (fragile)deconstruction to get it exposed down to just the bare tube.. this whole time i thought it was a ruby laser (i didnt know what i actually had) i wanted to try to modify it to give me a solid beam, until i found out it was a gas laser.. with as extremly fascinating as it is, i really have no reason to hold on to it, ive already shocked the crap outta my self once, and i dont apprciate it as much as you guys.. it still works great, id be down to sell it, or trade it for a more powerful laser if someone really wants it, lemme know!

i'll try and put some pics up of it soon

i do gotta say though, the bare tube is one of the coolest things ive seen, and the blue light in the mirror?? WOW!
