Here's a 1.1mJ 532nm Q-switched DPSS laser system I got to play with. It's water cooled. I wish I had more time to work with it. The video was kind of made on the fly using whatever was around the lab.

Wow that thing is sweeet, nice vid! The shark riding on top adds a nice touch too. Have you ever thought of popping that badboy off the bench, taking it outside & tried etching a smiley face or something on the moon?

Maybe I'm wrong, but numbers look weird to me. If it is 1.1 mJ and pulse is 10ns, we have 1.1x10E-3 J / 10E-8 s = 1.1x10E5 W = 110KW, not 11KW.

Good catch magonegro. If the pulse was 10ns you would be right. I just pulled the test report on the laser. I figured out where the numbers came from. It's the rated output I posted and the pulse duration should have been 100ns. That's what happens when you edit video after midnight. The actual measurements are: 1.52mJ with a pulse width of 80ns at 10kHz, so it's really a 19kW pulse.

So, actually a 1.9W average power. Pretty good
edit: My error. 1.52mJ x 10000 pulses/second = 15.2 Joules. So 15.2 Joules / 1second = 15.2 Watt Avg. Like Benm says forward here.
