Default Would this DJ laser be safe in my room?

I'm thinking about buying a new DJ laser for my study/dj room ....

the room is fairly long but has sloped ceilings.

The laser I'm interested in is the American DJ Galaxian Sky Green Laser.

I live in the UK but I've found a website which will ship internationally.

My question is to ask you guys whether or not this laser would be safe.

At the moment I have two green 30mw stepping dj lasers and 100mw red one but after reading about safety on them I've not used them for months upon months. I do miss having them on though :/

The specs of this particular laser I'm looking at are as follows...

EXPOSURELASER DIODEWAVELENGTH : 635~650 nmMax Output : <4.9mWClass IIIa Laser Product

American DJ Galaxian Sky Green Laser Lighting Effect at AMS

More info on it there, there doesn't seem to be anywhere in the UK selling these types of lasers.

What is confusing me a bit is that on the description for the laser it says it's a 10mw but the specs I posted above are straight out of the manual.

Here's a pic of my room, I guess I would have to ceiling mount if I did get one and also would it be safe regarding voltages etc. I can get an American to UK plug socket converter...

Cheers for any advice.

As long as they're never pointed where your face will be (or anyone else's face for that matter), there's no reason to be afraid of your 30mW or 100mW systems.

What he ^^^ said.

Mainly just wanted to say, that unit thing is VERY overpriced. Start off with one of these: $27.29 Firefly Patterned 50mW Green + 100mW Red Laser Stage Lighting Projector - with tripod and AC power adapter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping and see how you like it.

You'll also want a fog machine.

The reason it's grossly over priced is because those ones are US safety certified for use in public shows, still not justification for charging 600% more. The Chinese ones are fine for personal use, but don't be taking them to any shows.

Thanks guys, I'll keep my lasers then but the only problem is figuring out where to put them, ideally I'd like them as high as possible on either side of the drape next to the wooden feature, but the sloped ceiling is plasterboard so I have no idea how I can hang them.
