<<How much 650 do you need to match 635?>>

The ratio is nearly 5 to 1. I've tried to attach a photo of a side by side comparison I did between 200mW of 660nm and 635nm. Not sure if it attached or not!

i dont think it is truly a 5:1 ratio

it depends on a few things such as the divergence but i have seen more like 3:1

We've been through this test at FLEM and SELEM. The 660nm is a Maxymodule and the 635 is a Lasever. The Maxymodule has much better beam specs than the Lasever. Every time we come up with somewhere around a 4.5-5 to 1 ratio.

edit- if you go to Sam's Laser FAQ and search for "Laser visibility and Color" its just about falls right in line with what it says there. I'd post a link, but I have less than 10 posts.....

<<Welcome DJZ!>>

Thanks! Glad I could help. There are several people out, and probably here as well, that will tell you that 635 is too orange for a laser projector. Really, its difficult to tell the difference between 635 and 660nm unless you have both colors side by side. And even then it can be difficult to tell which is which. The only negative about 635 is the beam specs, and that really isn't much of a problem unless you plan on projecting at a great distance. I'll try to attach some photos if I can, all were with 635nm with its "bad beam specs" with a throw of about 15 feet.

Looks like I could only attach 1 photo...
