Where can I get a good Analogue Laser Module?

Hi,

I'm sure most people have read the other posts, but I'm thinking of making a scanner over the next few months. But I want to build it up bit by bit, perhaps adding another part each month or so. But I want to plan ahead to make sure I'm ordering the right bits for the final goal of a full RGB analogue scanner, that's dead good at animations and is PC controlled!

I'm thinking something like:
1.) 1x Laser - Green Module with analogue modulation (future proof for when the DAC gets built in ;) )
2.) 1x Laser - Red analogue to get RGY
3.) 1x 30k Laserpic Galvos
4.) 1x Pangolin FB3
5.) Save up for AGES - then get a Blue analogue for full blown RGB :)

So, as buying a laser module is my first 2 steps, I have 2 questions:

1.) What should be some realistic power levels for each RGB individual Laser?
I've got an idea of 100mW 523nm, 2x 200mW of 650nm and 200mW blue - does this sound about right?

2.) As I'm hammering the analogue bit, where is a good place for 100mW green analogue modules? Could I get a 100mW green from DX and combine it with a Die4Laser driver of perhaps one of Norms' £10 ones? And would this be fully compatible with the FB3 on analogue mode?

I welcome your suggestions if you feel I'm going down the wrong path in anyway.

Thanks,

Dan :)

ok cheers, I'll email them for prices.

Would you reccomend your Aixiz modules? Could they be setup with analogue using a die4drive?

Thanks,

Dan :)

why void warranty and risk breaking the laser, when you ca just buy analogue.

so far all my aixiz modules have broke just after a year

neat ideas.
when I can justify the expense and have some money, I want to build a RGB of about the same power. However I have a nifty device that is a USB I/O controller (which is essentially a USB interface, a PIC controller, a DAC and some transistors for some analogue and some digital outputs and same for inputs). So long story short all I need is, galvos w/ amps, and R/G/B modules all with analog in and I simply hook them all up to the analog outs of the card.
On the comp, you can simply program calls to a DLL supplied for the card, and program a laser show! easy, and the only expense is galvos+lasers! and the most easily programmable laser show EVER!

lasever doesnt seem very helpful written in engrish, can you confirm if the ML473 series and the ML532 series have analog modulation?
and does anyone kno of approx pricing? roughly? similar to above, like 100mW green and 150mW blue and 200mW 635 red.

Hi, nice project!
I have a similar one in the works using DX lab module, two 115d-DVD-burner reds combined and a bluray just for the sake of it! All lasers are driven with d4drives. If you use the right connectors you can use them without voiding DX warranty.
They are going to be combined by either groupbuy or edmund optics dichros (I have both) and adjusted using groupbuy dichro mounts.
I haven't decided wich scanners to use, 20k from lasershowparts.com or something else.
How much are the laserpic ones?

Just FYI if anyone is interested I can supply TEC cooled and temperature regulated lab modules (with analog and TTL) in 650nm up to 600mw, 532nm in many powers and 405nm up to 200mw. PM me if you're interested. :) (Warranties)
