Ok Laserites, I have a question. Look at the second video from the top on this page: http://www.cordlesskites.net/Gallery.html (the one which shows two men standing with their backs to the cam).

These are remote control "kites" that prowl the night skies of Singapore. I have seen them and they are greatly relaxing to watch. i am ordering one for myself. In the video, you will see they have a green laser attached to the bottom that they activate intermittently. These run on a 1300 Amph ithium poly battery.

Any guesses as to what the light is and where I might find them to purchase?

Thanks,
CaptSteve

The kites are illuminated by leds, but at the 30 second mark you see a few quick green lights projected outwards. I have seen these live and you can see them "painting" the ground with these green lights which I assumed to be a type of laser. Care to check again? I trust your experience. Also, the "lasers" I thought I saw pivot to scan directionally when on.
Thanks

ahhhh now i see them. was on my phone earlier and could see them. hmmm do you have a picture of one of these kites up close? it looks like a strobe setting or possibly pulsed laser but without a picture of the kite with a laser, its hard to tell

Looks like some green modules were mounted on one of them... very impressive. Mainly though, all just color LEDs.

$500????
Anx they let these kids fly them???

Surely they can not be that expensive.

For that money you could buy a realy nice helicopter or quad copter.

Sounds like somebody is getting ripped off.....

Still this kite is probably cheaper then a helicopter.

Flying a RC helicopter is very difficult.
Crashes are inevitable. And the repairs realy cost money.

Trust me, been there, done that...:cryyy:

But we are getting off topic.
