Unfortunately I found that out a day or two after my kit arrived. Oh well. I guess I'll just have to save up for the Pangolin FB3 now. ;)

I ordered a 500mW unit from CNI. Gets here on Tuesday. According to their testing the average is 682mW. I'll be doing a full review of it after playing for a few days.

Bah, mine got delayed ANOTHER day. Arriving tommorow, but I have school. Hopefully they will just drop it off and leave it for me. UPS is annoying the crap outta me!!

I'm building Norms DAC now hopefully i get it to work....

norms is good but does not have analog modulation.. only ttl, wich means no color blending..

so for an rgb scanner ot even an RG scanner you are limited as to what colors you can make.

Norms DAC outputs 10V and my scan amps take 5V :-/ wonder if it will be a problem???

ANDY! ;D where you been hiding?

Right norm's DAC has two outputs 10V+ and 10V-, my scanner amps use a 5V differential input (+5V, -5V and ground)

And this is my problem plus his DAC uses 15V differential input, but on the schematic the - looks like it is not used..
Oh ignore the red lines!!! ;D

e-mail him and ask as im not 100% sure but

the 10+/- means it should work fine with a 5v system

if not ask on PL forum they will know for sure

now the only thing is to figure out what the -15V is used for :-?
I want to build the DAC as an external unit and plug it into the DMX boards ILDA plug, but i emailed Dav at lasershowparts and he said rather to connect it to the amps directly..... would it make such a difference?

ummm i think he holds the key.

i would be surprised if he made a dac that didnt work with most scanners??
