Default Timer unit for a laser

I am really new to this laser thing. I got premium 15mW green laser pointer from NOVAlaser for astronomy purposes but I also have a annoying street light right across the street that I need to turn off. I see that if I point my green laser pointer to the light sensor the street light goes off. The problem is off course, that laser must keep pointing to the light sensor to keep the light turned off.

I am looking for something to accomplish this task. What I need is something that turns on a laser for a few seconds and then it turns the laser off again. I know there are some units call DJís laser show but I donít know if the laser can be set up to point only in one direction and I donít think I need any music in my backyard (just kidding) . I donít need to keep the laser on all the time either, it is just a few seconds on and then a few seconds off.

I donít mind buying a unit that contains everything, the laser, the timer, and the driver to do such a thing.

What are my options here?

Regards

you can use this schematic
http://www.freeinfosociety.com/elect...nightlight.jpg
just swap photoresistor and pot with resistor (P1 connected between V+ and Base, R2 and R3 between Base and V-). then buy an green laser module (about 50mW) and place it instead R1 and LEDs. you can adjust sensitivity by P1
aim the laser at the streetlight. when the streetlight is on, P1 will detect it and open the transistor -> laser turns on. when laser turns off the light, P1 closes T1 and laser is off etc.
hope this works

Are you aware that if YOU deliberately turn off the Street Light
and due to that an accident occurs...or a crime is committed
because of the turned off Street Light that you will be held legally
responsible...

Street lights are put there for a reason...
Perhaps closing your blinds might help...

it is a private road in a Farm, the only way people can use that road is with my permission. But we paid to install street lights long time ago, and now that I want to use my telescope, the light shines like the sun.

Um, excuse me for stating the obvious, but 10-15$ gets you a new construction box, a lid, and a toggle switch at a Big Box hardware place.
Another 3$ gets you the waterproof safety boot.

Odds are if its a outdoor circuit there is already a cutoff.

Is there a reason you wish to do it the hard but fun way?
