He voided my future licenses is more accurate, apologies for being vague. When you buy spaghetti you also are entitled to updates. Voiding licenses means no updates ever. If there was a way for Gary to void my old licenses also, he would have, but it's not possible. Basically it boiled down to Gary declaring that I was no longer a licensed user even though I paid for the same licenses as everybody else.

What a dick.

To tell the rest of the story, Elektofreak (unprovoked) personally insulted me numerous times both publically and privately. So, it was more than a difference of opinion that lead me to blacklisting him from updates. I actually bent over backwards to help him on multiple occasions and was treated very rudely. I feel no remorse at all for not allowing him to receive future upgrades. Anyone who has treated me with respect has been treated with respect in return.

That would make more sense.. I don't know if I agree with that philosophy personally but it's neither my product or decision.

Now what I'm really curious about is what the rest of us did to be "banned" from future updates which you say you will continue to make but not share.

A lot of people own Spaghetti and there have been many opportunities for people to make shows and share them. That's why Spaghetti was made available to the public in the first place. None of you have really done anything to give to the Spaghetti community. Why should I?

I feel a little offended by that statement Gary...
Not only did I contribute $89 to your "beer fund" as you call it, I made a show within the first week and shared it with both people here and the PL FTP server..

I have not had time to make more shows yet but I have only have the software for a few months... I have not even had time to play with my projector lately never mind make shows...

It would also be easier for me to make shows if you didn't charge me for a license for a computer I don't even own... I can't create shows while I am at work in my free time because I don't want to pay for something I am going to loose at some point... I already paid once...

In any case I didn't realize that by purchasing your software we were required to make shows to have the software not crash randomly or get new features...

You should because you TOOK OUR MONEY... If it was freeware I wouldn't be complaining... What did you give me? Software I bought? And now you're saying I can't even have that... You couldn't even give me a temporary license for free and you expect me (and the rest of the community) to sit around pumping out shows for you for free?

And in case you forgot I paid for your software AFTER you gave me a refund even though I didn't have to, and I managed to fix the problem myself.

Honestly Gary I am easy to get along with and I generally don't try to start shit or anything but I really think you are out of line here... Please look at this from your CUSTOMERS point of view...

-Jared

EDIT: also maybe if you offered a laser capable show player for free more people would be inclined to buy your software to create shows because they know ANYONE with a projector could view it for free...
The way you protect your licenses your running it like a business not a hobby thing / for the community... Pick one.

EDIT 2: Also Gary you've basically doomed the software to never get any new shows from the community... Why would anyone waster their time making a show NO ONE can view...I hope that's your intended effect.

He paid for software, not for a friend. How he acts and his attitude should not matter, he bought the license and just like you offer no refunds, you don't have the right to reverse that transaction of the software. You asked for all this shit when you started accepting peoples hard earned money.

OK, fair enough. You provided one show and I will provide you with one future update.

Deal?

How about an apology for starters?

You called me (among others) out for NO REASON.. I contributed to the community, I recommended your software, I got you sale(s)...

I don't know what else you expect from me? blood?

Up until this point I had nothing but good things to say about you.

No a single update will not do.. For the most part this isn't about updates it's about the fact that no one will EVER create a new show for the software if it's not available anymore.

You said all future updates were included in the price I don't know why that's such a burden for you... You are developing it anyway... I don't know what I did personally to have this brought upon me.. I have barely had time to shit after work never mind make new shows... It has barely been 30 days...

How about if you want to doom your software you give me a refund so I can buy something that's actually being sold still?

Pat (ElektroFreak) paid a total of $65 and received three licenses.

Apparently you like him better than me since I paid almost twice that and couldn't even get a second license.
EDIT: TO MAKE MORE SHOWS FOR THE COMMUNITY... I had like 2 or 3 already planned out...

Your license still works and it will continue to work. Spaghetti is as mature as I ever really intended it to be. I had some updates planned that I discusses with a few people but never committed to any of them. So, even if I didn't decide to abandon it there is no guarantee that you would have received much more in the way of free updates anyway. So, when you tell me that I am taking something away from you I just laugh.

The software still crashes a lot.. I was hoping that kind of thing would be addressed in updates.. And like I said before it's not the updates I am most concerned about...

You are taking away the chance that the community will still make shows for this software by locking it up and hiding it from the world and my ability to ever change computers. You also say you plan on continuing development on it for yourself anyway...

You did not mention to me or anyone else that this was going to be abandoned not 30 days after we paid almost full price for it.. You also seem to be ignoring most of my statements.

If you think this is something to laugh at that's sad.. I think I have been more than fair with you and you are treating me (and others) like crap for no reason.
