Just another small update. The PJ survived but the alignment seems a bit off. I measured the voltage on the RGB lines and they all measured 2.45v +/- .002v

And for the record I finally figured out what impaled me. It wasn't the corner of the table leg or the Saik heatsink (although my arm hurt for a good week plus where landed on it). The culprit was an old external HD case that I had harvested the 12v power supply from to power my green HeNe's PS. If I held the case over my hand all the minor cuts and the major one matched all the metal bits of the case perfectly. Still haven't gotten the bills yet but for what they submitted to the insurance company I could build a decent PJ.

Sweet! How bad is the alignment off? Whats misaligned? The colors?

When are you measuring the voltages? and where? On the DAC?

It's hard to descrive but the preprogrammed shows just looked fuzzy. Like I said I'll have to check closer. I hope I don't have to open it because the one time I had it open it was a class 1 PITA to get closed up.

I measured the voltages at the end of the 6 foot (~1.9m) DB25 cable coming from the DAC. I didn't measure them with the adapter I made attached but I doubt it'd drop it much.

Fuzzy? that's weird.. It's not that bad to get closed up....

Those Voltages should be enough to turn the laser on...

Yeah the laser runs fine most of the time. The odd times it doesn't I blame on windows. I'll try to get some decent video of the laser to see if you think it's out of alignment. It doesn't seem as crisp as before. Maybe it was always that way and I just noticed it now since I was really looking for it.

I'll take a look when you make the video... I can't imagine how a laser can be fuzzy though... It's not going trough any sort of lens or focusing thing... It's just a single dot... do the static dots look fuzzy?
