The color mixing went away when I switched to spaghetti...

Make sure your driver is set to the highest channel number so windows doesnt try to dick with your signal.

Well now I don't know what the hell is wrong. Now it won't even talk to the projector 90% of the time. *grumble* Going to nuke windows and start over.

hmm. I'm using the CM6206 drivers that came with the card from Adam. For some reason it's working fine again except for the color mixing.

I've noticed sometimes windows doesn't like the card, you have to make sure the light is actually flashing... If it's not you have to unplug and replug the USB cable and occasionally reboot.

Try fooling with the channel numbers some more...

The light is blinking when it's working. I did just notice if I slide the red slider past about 2/3rd's it goes from red to yellow so there's something funky going on here. The green slider still seems to do nothing. I'm starting to wonder if I goofed up my adapter somehow. I did manage to get a pic of the ILDA test frame a few minutes ago. The blur is from me handholding a long exposure.

Attached are 2 pics of the adapter I built. You can see the lose wire in the first one.

edit: Oo. Looks like I got it now. I set the channels like guyfromhe listed and had to dial back the max green and red so they stopped making yellow on their own,. It seems to be pretty decent now. Need to run a couple shows and do a bit more tweaking to get it dialed in. Man even with this el cheapo projector I can't wait to see what a pair of real galvos can do....

I owe both of you major rep as soon as I can give it!

The adapter looks ok... Maybe check max.wav with a multimeter and see if your getting around 5v on Red Green and Blue... It looks like your X and Y are good based on that ILDA test pattern.

Can't type much now. PJ's likely destroyed. Tripped, fell, knocked the tray table it was on over and impaled my left hand in the process. Spent 2 hours in the ER getting it stitched.

Jeez man are you ok? Did you get Impaild by the projector or the table?

Good chance something is out of whack but you might have got lucky... That thing is pretty solid and that glue that everything os covered in is stronger than steel... Did you have a chance to throw it back into pattern mode and see what the damage was?

In any case your hand comes first make sure you take good care of it.

You broke BOTH of the rules the manual stated... You subjected it to strong vibration and punch!

Sorry to hear about that...Hope you get better soon and the damage isn't bad.

it was the table leg from what i can tell since it was dark. I was going over to the computer to start another show when I tripped. For grins and giggled I plugged the PJ back in and it worked to my shock. I think since it was off (well it was on but not projecting and it fell to the side away from the lasers helped it. i'll have to test it more once i can use both hands again. Time to get some sleep.

That thing is pretty resilliant everything is both screwed AND glued so it should be able to take a bit of punishment. My biggest concern would be the red PBS cube and the crystal in the green laser and maybe the galvos to a very small extent... If those all work than I'd say you got off lucky only wrecking one thing :p. Anyway hope your hand gets better soon and you can get your dac working.

Well a small update. I plugged the projector in Saturday evening and it seems ok. I need to test it a bit more to see if the alignment survived. I haven't tested it with the DAC yet either. After surveying the carnage I'm fairly sure now the injury wasn't from the table leg but rather from landing on my Saik's heat sink that I knocked off my other work table on the way down. I guess it's a bit ironic that the guy who milled it is now studying to be a paramedic. :p

Guyfromhe-

I completely missed your post about testing for +5v on the RGB lines. I'll have to check that out sometime soonish. I gave my argon its bimonthly burn to get my laser fix Saturday evening but since there wasn't a chance in hell I could move its 2 ton PSU I swiped the DB25 cable from the DAC so I could extend the remote.

Sounds like the PJ is going to be fine... The hand however needs to come off :p

Check the voltages and see what it's actually outputting.. There's a good chance windows is fucking it up tho.
