I had some fun and made this video to demonstrate the affects of scanner speed on image quality. I am driving a REKE-500RGB projector from WinXP using iShow and the bundled DAC.
Pay attentions to the corners of the image. As we push the scanners harder and harder, the corners become more rounded, because the scanners cannot respond in time.
If we drive these weak 10K scanners too slow, the image may look nice and crisp, but there is a great deal more flicker. Over drive them, and the image is good and solid, but with less detail.
Is there any danger to running my scanners over-driven for any length of time?
