Ok, so I have finally gotten around do planning out my version 2 RGY scanner. I now have all the parts needed and just spent the last hour or so planning how to lay out the chassis while keeping the parts close enough together so there are no wires stretching out across the box.

Attached is the layout of the box and is to scale. 300mmx300mmx100mm. I just need to order the box, and build into the box. Also, any changes to the layout would be nice to hear just in the bottom right corner there will be a fan so keep that area clear.

looks nice :D makes me want to make one this summer ;D

Thanks, it looks like a crappy layout but remember its to scale and there will be wires and such coming from everything...

If you have the money then go for it, version one which is just a red scanner cost me around £175 to build but I then found out it can take two colours and combine them in some of its effects to make yellow so I began work on a version two.

soon you will be on v3 with blue ;)

Its a possibility but the chances are I will just buy a RGB ready built, will work out cheaper. Version 2 might be the last I do to the RGY so I am giving it the full pro look, its even getting sprayed... possibly metallic silver.

spraying takes a whole day sadly.

its a pain n the ass

Lets build it first haha, the box is grey and silver which I think would look a little ugly.

if its metal its needs spraying otherwise rust!

Another reason to spray it. Its made from aluminum, and I have some silver metallic car spray.

Where can you find one for cheaper than the cost of building one?

I was speaking more of RGY than RGB, but to buy a ready built RGB it costs what? £500? To buy all the parts to build that it would probably cost around £700?
