Well, it sure does look good (and promising!!!)

How many colors was that? What was used for beam deflection? The pangolin?

What is the pangolin, the DA-Converter?!?

But, pretyy cool!

As soon as I can figure out a good, relatively cheap solution to raster scanning (likely in a few years :p ) I'll post a how-to on building a raster laser display head. For now, all I can do is warn you that this one won't be easy. It's sure to require high precision and will be high difficulty.

only RGY

beam deflection??? what????

pangolin make the best laser show DAC and software in the world.

30k scanners, 11MHz blanking, and a controller capable of accepting and processing data at a rate of over 170MHz for full DVD resolution raster with 16-bit color and full framerate. That's my goal.

what??? 30k scanners are fast enough for raster scanning? Are you serious?!?

Now besides that, what does the 30k actually mean? Move to 30.000 points per second???

What I meant with "beam deflection" is, what is used to "deflect" or "civert" the beam - i.e. move the dot on the wall.

For full speed DVD an 18k is enough to handle vertical positioning. Horizontal would require a high-speed spinning mirror. That's far out of range for any galvos.

controller, galvo, blanking device???

are you a newbie at scanning???

laser modules have ttl or analoge modulation, which is blanking.
the DAC + software controls blanking
