That might indeed very well be visible.

But the 'paint the moon' moon idea from that website (from 2001...) is fundamentally flawed, and would not stand a chance of achieving a result even if all humanity pointed their dilda at the moon at the same it. Even if everyone owning any laser pointer would participate, it would be well beyond a million times short of creating a visible result.

I wonder why the people behind that website went through all the trouble, when they could have determined it is not possible in 5 minutes of crude calculation.

u can probably get some for free. remember the soviets had a number of nuclear submarine accidents and some are still lying on the ocean floor with nuclear tipped ICBMs :)

btw, minuteman might not have enough delta-v to achieve a lunar transfer orbit coz it was meant for sub-orbital strikes. this means it probably doesn't even have enough power to achieve Low Earth Orbit, let alone lunar transfer hehehe.

Maybe it won't be visible for us down here, but it sure would be a spectacular sight for the man in the moon. :D
