Default My Tiny Tiny 1watt RGV build

having seen the 1watt kvant i was very impressed by the size. so i thought ummm wonder how hard that would be to do the same??

now kvants measures 264 x 175 x 180 mm -

1W full color SPECTRUM - Smaller and Faster! - laserShow.sk KVANT ltd.

mine measures 220x170x90mm and by my maths that = half the size

power -

2x 215mw 405nm diodes
2x 275mw 650nm diodes
1x 50mw green module

so total power before optics will be 1030mw

I think comparing it to the one in the link is a bit edgy though - that states a whopping 500 mW of 445 nm blue. I wonder if its a 445 nm diode though, or a 457/473 DPSS, though both seem incredibly powerful.

It's a 445nm 500mW blue diode, they come in 1W flavor too

Make sure you isolate that green from the aluminum with a sheet of mica or whatever.

I'm also interested to see how well that green modulates if you are using an analog driver with it. Reason being that I have a few of those. One modulates great. One is terrible. I haven't even fired up the third one, yet.

I'm building a RGV. Will I have to isolate my green also? It's the 100mW one from o-like. Sorry for the threadjack andy.

MM --- In my RGB build, I use neg chassis ground and had to isolate the green module from chassis ground. That's how it works. I used a thin strip of mylar, thermal grease and nylon screws.

not a problem let me know. ill be seeling this as soon as its made so that i can work on a better model. better scanners and 2.5-3watt

its very simple just bounce the top beam down to meet the green with the dichro at 45 degrees still

im comparing it size wise only, kvant use cambridge scanners and 445 blue. and yes it is a 445nm diode not dpss.

@ the two offers to buy the projector: would you be willing to collect the parts for a scanner (the box especially. I really like the custom boxes you get) and then sell it as a kit? My friend kind of wanted one. He is a DJ so it would have to be compliant. I want the fun of putting it together without the misery of waiting for parts Would this be possible? Maybe we can work something out...PM me please. If you would rather email, PM me and i will send you my email address.

Are you setting the two violets to 200mW each? I was talking to Igor (he is making my violet labby for my scanner) and he said that 200mW with a 6x in a scanner would be really hard to get. "Go for an 8x and pray" is what is said i think. Im just curious...

How much are you looking for for this projector? It might just be in my price range...

Thanks

im sure we could sort something out just depends on the power you want, i cojuld get up to 2.5watt in a case this size.

drop me a PM mate.

as for 200mw of 405nm, i recently got a 6x diode and it runs at 215mw all day long and produces no heat whatsoever. so i dont see any issue with putting it into a projector.
i made a post about the 6x diode testing on this forum as it goes
