Where on earth did u get the cash for this ?

You can't go wrong with LSP or Laser-Wave.. You might be able to save a little scratch buying CNI heads from laser king (just shoot 'em an email) but in terms of quality CNI and Laser-wave are about equal.

Be careful with the 640nm LW head though.. heard a few complaints about them involving both premature death and the internal optics becoming misaligned over time.

Experimentonomen: I didnt, Its future plans for the projector I want to build. As I get spare cash I squirrel it away to purchase the next bit (be it a laser head or simply a dichro).

Elektrofreak: thanks for the heads up on the LW 640, but I really dont with to use a darker wavelength... or something with a flashlight beam

Given that there was a rash of defective units reported on PL, I'm sure that LW has corrected the problem. Looking good above.. you're probably gonna need a bigger box, though..

yep, I've decided to keep the chinese projector as is, perhaps add faster scanners for practise at home on, and the big beast for parties and such.

EBAY TIME! since I am into these laser show things so heavily recently, I decided to purchase a mandatory piece of equipment along with the DAC from Experimentonomen.....



I also bought a 1L bottle of fog juice to go with it, same brand as the fogger

Yeppers - may even make me cut down on the cigarettes! A 1L bottle will give me an idea on how much of the fluid I'll need. I'm going to be conservative with it, as the stuff makes me sneeze, so I reckon a fog bottle with 1L will last me ages

If those pictures on the packs of cigs you guys have down there don't make you cut back... I doubt the fog will LOL.

There's just one problem. Those 350mW units already have two diodes inside of them combined via PBS (that's why the aperture is off to one side), so you can't combine two 350mW units with another PBS.

Black electrical tape has its uses, so does the plastic ciggy box

Anyway on the subject of a fog machine, my mate has about 6 of them, but I can never raise him to get a hold of one - Anyways I'm a laser head, so its about time I owned my own

This weekend:
2 x green laser projectors
My RGB proj
2 x red projectors
1 x red x bluray mixed projectors

Possible modifications: 1w green in one of the green projectors, 1 watt 445 in the other!)

and my rc helicopters.

(no we ARENT going to be strapping the pj's to the heli!).

toss in a video camera and 3 fog machines, a bit of beer and its party time. (pity I couldnt afford my dac earlier or I'd be leaving the ipad at home and taking the lappy!)

Well the frame streamer express just showed up (Thanks Experimentonomen!). Now I just need to wait for the arrival of the new laser projector, and find a 25pin serial cable for the ilda lead.

Then I need to recall my laptop from loan and get to trying out Norms Laser Show, until funding arrives for the Spaghetti software

edit: damn thats quick - the laser has shot thru sydney customs, and should be arriving today.

Wether it arrived sans laser pointer and with a big nasty customs letter is another story - I have a feeling I'll get the pointer though, it spent 10 minutes in customs

Its here - the laser pen was cleverly hidden - I had to pop the back off the projector to find it! Since I have no real use for one, I'll be giving it to a friend whos big pointer died.

My friend is extremely impressed with the pointer (and actually has a permit to have one).

My DMX lighting desk should be arrived to do all the other lasers today and tomorrow I'm off hunting for that elusive 25pin serial lead. I found one on line but they were out of stock!

Update.

You guessed it - as soon as the laser went to the farming property where all the other lasers live.... the red module died.

Something to do with the electrical system out there. None of my systems are going back out there until I get an online UPS to run the projector. I have a sneaking suspicion that the diode in the red module is just a LOC, so will be getting a spanner wrench to open the front of the module, pop out the diode, and replace with a LOC from on ebay.

The red module is now nothing more than a glorified 5mw fizzer

LOCs are cheap though, and I might go about replacing the 405 with a 445 diode while I am at it.

wow doesnt the flash show up every speck of dust?! I'll be cleaning this machine meticulously before I put it back together, especially the optics.

As I will be dealing with static sensitive laser diodes in the near future, I've set myself up with an ESD soldering station, a wrist band, ESD gloves and a new set of helping hands (my old set has had it). Also a variable current limited supply.

*orders 4 LOC diodes, just incase he stuffs 3*

Does anyone reckon it would be a good idea to replace the 3 drivers in the projector with flexmod p3's to get myself proper analogue modulation?

ok guys I have ordered the wrong red module. It fits physically, lases properly, but has no TTL modulation. I'll keep it for a burner pointer (hey now I have a red laser )

Now to order the correct one from o-like - its not worth shipping this back to o-like for swap over.
