MiNi Laser Star

Has anyone played around with these little Mini Laser Star 5mW lasers?

They look very basic and simple but for the price it could be worth getting one just to play around with and modify. Theres similar things around for well over £300, as far as I know all these are just diffraction grating things.

Yup, just spinning diffraction gratings. You can get more of a effect if you use 2 going in different directions ....

Hmm thats what I thought, I have seen these in action and they do make a supprisingly good effect...

What would be cheaper is the question, buy this or buy some gratings, motors and a cheap laser.

I am actually tempted to buy one and add a 80mW red in there with the green.
