I was goint to fit this project in an xbox360 case, but things have chaged

ok i scrapped the xbox360 idea.. the components are too big

i bought a 12"x12" 1/4" aluminum plate to mount everything to..

so here is the list of parts i have

The Big Stuff
scanpro20
150mw green
250+mw red (custom build almost completed)
12x12 mounting plate

The Little Stuff
some optics mounts
replacement galvo mirrors
red/green dichro (for combining)

The scanpro is tested with the green laser and is working well

thinggs i still need

405 (bluray) laser (diodes on the way)
DAC (getting one for $150 from a forum member in less that 60 days)
metal box to put it in (may just make this out of sheet metal)
another dichro gor combining the 405nm

I will be updating this thread with pics of the build once all the parts are in.. (excluding the dac)

Cool. Just a vague question, with the scanpro20 does it allow you to change the output of the laser module if it is analogue?

So during your laser show, you can get a full spectrum of colours? (If it's RGB).

yes you can.. there are 3 leads for modulation (RGB) they handle TTL or analog modulation

Wow, that's awesome. I total have to get me one of those scanpros when I decide to make my scanner :D

i thought about that.. but decided i wanted something profesional looking

update, red laser showed up today and I of course proceaded to break it..
purchased new diode and waiting for shipment..

I have a really nice looking black slimline media center PC Case that i think my projector would look realy in.


How did you break ya laser ?

i was adjusting the 0bias pot (thats what decides "off" is for the ttl) and the pot popped off. when i got it re soldered and connected it up, and the laser was an LED :(

i use drlava flexmod
it was not heat, i think that when the pot poped off the laser got a spike and died

i hope i dont have the same trouble, I have just ordered my flexmod1. What laser you driving with it ?

I'm only gonna run a 50mw Green for now, then get a second and run a 100mw 405nm Violet

it was a 250mw red..
i doubt you will have an issue..
are you buying it pre assembled? if not then if the pot pops off, it will be your fault :)

what laser you using with the flex mod ?


I brought a pre-assembled one :D

I love the fact you wanted to put your projector in a 360 case, I have a dead 360 here, think i should try it ?

well my first built is gonna be a 50mw Green with Scanpro20's. should be able to get that inside that 360. could have the XY scanner facing out from where the power button should be. well we'll see how things turn out when my galvos arrive :D
