Default Laser Mounts?

Ok, I am using andys adjustable mirror mounts for my dichro but I have hit a small problem, I only have a 50mW green laser and a 100mW red laser which are somewhat smaller than the height the dichro is...

So is there some way I can build an adjustable mount or something for my lasers? The green laser is the DL 50mW module and the red is from ebay and is in a round tube style housing...

ok what people do it.

cut a square bit of alum, as a heat sink and base. you then put a long screw in each corner, which screw into the base of the scanner.

like so, just minus the heat sink.
use screws to hold the plate and screw them to adjust height

If you have access to a hardware store, wander around the plumbing and electrical areas, specifically the conduit and pipe hangers and standoffs. Anything with a threaded mount will make adjustments a cinch. The finned piece at the bottom of the pic is an electric motor mount for a small R/C airplane, a typical diode mount/lens tube fits nicely.

you use the screw to hold the alum mount at the right height.

and you just twist all 4 to adjust the height, its the correct way to mount a laser module

What keeps it from sliding down the shoulder of the bolts? Sorry, I'm just not picturing it

Heavy duty? It looks like you could crush you laser if not careful

Andy, how thick is that bit of metal you have the module mounted to? and did you cut the holes in the edges yourself?

thats not mine.

but you want at least 5mm thick alum for a good heat sink

the nut/screw that screws onto the thread of the bolt. you put under the laser to stop is sliding down.
you then screw the laser to the alum plate
