EDIT: I just got an email reporting about the dongle. Definately will be looking into that.

Software that ties itself to the computer is like having your drivers license tied to your first car. Once you change to a new car, you have to do the learners and driving test period all over again. Well my dongle is in the mail so can't wait for that. Is there another reasonable priced DAC out there that would work.for Windows 7 64 bit out of box? I recently acquired another laser and I'm fairly certain (I'm still a noob) that I'm going to need another DAC to run this second laser. So I.was wondering if there's another lower price entry level dac out there (eventually I will go all in for QuickShow but $500 is a bit right now. Lol. Anyone have further info?

You can string them together with ILDA cables. When doing this often people will invert the X axis on one and put them on either side of a stage for example. With the X (left-right) axis inverted, they mirror one another. I've seen ILDA cables on ebay before that are already split into two outputs with one X inverted, or you can put them in kind of a series, going in a projector, then out of it to the other.

Hi folks- same problem with 7 here. Hoping Sputnik gets it figured out. How do I know if the color is analog? Have an animation laser, low power (260 RGV). Has the ILDA interface, but stuck at not finding the drivers. I'm trying the uninstall you all spoke of earlier.
The question I have, kinda dumb, but once I get the drivers working on the Ishow DAC, should I be able to run Quickshow over it? I would think so. Free download of Quickshow, btw, don't know how long it's good for.
Anyway, new to this whole thing- I do a lot of video projection for clubs and shows, can't wait to add lasers to the show!!!

Oh, and one more thing for now- Am I to understand that running the software in XP sp3 compatibility mode (WIN7 Ultimate) will not work?

Nope, it has nothing to do with the software, its the driver thats not working.

Also, the iShow DAC will not work with QS.

You would know if yours was analog. It would have been stated clearly if it was, as that would be a big selling point.

I bought the laser projector, ishowII software, and dac off of Craigslist Hong Kong. No instructions...

They typically do not come with instructions anyway.

They usually come with a printed leaflet that has the word "instructions" printed on it, and a few other words that you can make out ,but thats about as far as it goes.

You can see if its analogue, but its tricky, and involves making an ILDA plug connected to a variable power supply or some AA batteries.

You make the plug and have access to the pins that control the laser brightness. You will also need to short pins 4 and 17 (interlock) to turn off the inbuilt show, and enable the ILDA port.

At this point onward you want to point the projector somewhere safe as the scanners will not be operating, so its going to emit a (potentially dangerous) static beam. Point it at something that can handle the power and wont reflect the beam all over the place.

Pin 6 and pin 19 control the green laser in your projector. Pin 5 and 18 control the red laser. Pin 7 and 20 control the violet laser. The low numbers are +ve, and the high numbered pins are -ve

Connect the + side of the power supply set to 1.5V or 1 x AA batteries in series to the number 6 pin, via a 100K resistor to limit the current and the -ve side of the supply or battery to pin 19. Take a note of the brightness (or use your LPM) of the static green beam that comes out. Now slowly turn up the power supply to 4.5 volts (or add another battery to the battery chain). If your projector is analogue, the brightness increase will be noticable. If using the batteries, the power jump will be apparent.

If your projector is TTL, it may not even turn on the lasers at 1.5V. You may need to get nearer to 3.5-4.0V for it to come on.

Just checking to see if this is a dead topic or not.. I have it working on my wife's netbook but it isn't really a great processor and was hoping to have a try on it on a Win7 environment.. Anywho - again not trying to be annoying just was checking the status of it

splitting QS with the 25$usd(free ship) Y=ribbon splitter from netherlands-'Laserwinkle' ebay and PL- i get a mirror image on second reke 500rgb
I am assuiming if I reverse the x via my settings in QS I will still get same but switched results- and thus I now think my choice is another Y splitter- which will get me two one image and the third reverse. fine by me- that PJ will onl be for beams/absatracts etc= no graphics anyway. after that I will get the un-mirrored splitter..

I found one much cheaper

NO This thread needs to stay alive- Ash just got a new REKE and iSHOW sohe needs to see this and get a little help- I own two pasta lic. but doubt I will ever even check them out for now--QS will spoil you- stay away from it.. but if you cant resist find the best N.A. price them come see(PM) me= I may be able to help.
